Katy Perry - Teenage Dream
I love this album cover as it's fun, it represent the song perfectly of living in a 'teenage dream', the pink clouds convey a fun light-heartedness to the cover. Also the use of Star Image is well conveyed, her beauty is apparent especially with the use of Voyeurism. The title flexible, young and mimics strawberry laces sweets which is a consistent theme throughout the album as she uses sweets to match her 'young and fun' theme. The parent advisory sticker makes her target audience feel like they are rebelling if they buy this album and this creates excitement especially for the teenage audience.
The colours are dark enough to make the text clear but fun enough to go consistently with the theme, carrying on the cloud imagery makes the album look smooth and professional. Using candy to replace letters make it look more creative and reminds us of it's unique nature.
The sub-heading font is the same as the back cover font which also creates flow through the Digi-Pak. It is also readable and uses the theme of candy as a border to make it colourful and consistent, with the background image being similar images to the back and front.
The disk is quite hippy and colourful with the consistent theme of red and white sweets, it stands out in comparison to other disc's that are often quite plain and almost gives is an illusionary vibe which is interesting.
Overall
I like the how the Digi-pak is consistent throughout with the use of colours and imagery as it created a peaceful flow and energy throughout, however on the negative side it could mean that they have missed out on adding other creative ideas into it. For example, they could have included more images of the artist and beautify her which would attract the audience further, although it could be argued that only having one medium length shot creates mystery.
